Best lightweight laptop?
Hey all. I was wondering if maybe you guys could help me.
I need a new computer for next semester when I go to law school (it’s required). It has to be really portable, sturdy and be able to go almost anywhere. It has to be able to withstand hours of being lugged around to and from classes and being used for all night study sessions.
Any suggestions for a nice lightweight laptop would be very helpful.
Also, I am not looking to spend more than say $1200-$1300, but that is negotiable.
Currently I have an XP Pavillion dv4000 that is a very nice computer.However it overheats easily. Also it is fairly heavy for me to lug around.
I am very petite (just under 5′ and weigh less than 100 lbs) so a lightweight comp would be great. If you can give me any ideas for what to look for, or even some brands to check out that would be wonderful.

It is not easy to decide on a lightweight laptop. The smaller ones (34cm screen) are lightweight but they can overheat easily and in the end, cost over $1500. Try Dell’s website on Vostro notebooks, they have some of the smallest notebooks and options to go along with them. The best options include at least a chill pad which has fans on a mat that the computer sits on when it can be used. A docking station will give the laptop a break when you are not needing the portability.
